SARTHI has been involved in Natural Resource Management for more than three decade. The core strategy in these efforts has been the active participation of the local community. SARTHI’s role in the process has been to organize the people and guide their efforts with technical input. The interventions are designed to maximize the benefits derived from locally available resources.

Soil & Water Conservation for Livelihood (Watershed based Development)

  • Land Treatment : 36,000 hectares(52 Watershed).
  • Gully plugs: 1551 nos.
  • Small Anicuts: 151 nos.
  • Water Dykes: 8 nos.
  • Deepening of percolation tank: 28 nos.
  • Water channels to the Percolation tank: 1 no.
  • Farm Pond: 55 nos.
  • Farm pond with polythene lining: 12
  • Lift Irrigation scheme in the area: 3 nos and 250 hectares.
  • Ravine reclamation and planting the trees and shrubs in
  • ravine: 1,160 Hectares.

Rain Water Harvesting for Ground Water Recharge

  • Check Dams- 170 nos.
  • Recharge of Open wells- 72 nos.
  • Bore wells in percolation tank- 65 nos.
  • Tank for Rain Water Harvesting fromRoof top-16
  • Deepening of percolation tank- 29 nos.
  • Water channels to the Percolation tank- 2 no.
  • Farm Pond- 48 nos.
