SARTHI initiated an energy-saving program for the tribal communities in the Panchmahals, Dahod, Baroda, and Tapi districts of Gujarat. As part of this initiative, we constructed 2,000 biogas plants and 5000 improved cook stoves to provide an alternative and eco-friendly source of energy, reducing the reliance on firewood and minimizing deforestation. Additionally, we installed 200 solar units for domestic lighting, ensuring that households in remote areas had access to reliable, renewable energy. The program also included plantation activities to grow fuelwood and fodder, supporting sustainable agriculture and improving the livelihoods of the community. This holistic approach aimed to enhance energy access, promote environmental sustainability, and improve the overall well-being of the tribal population.
